2023 First New York Scholarship Program

We are now accepting applications for the First New York Scholarship Program. In 2023, we will offer four $1,000 scholarships. One scholarship is dedicated to Jennie Pennington, a long-time board member and educator. To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a First New York member in good standing
• Be a graduating high school senior
• Plan to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college
• Be an active volunteer and/or active in their community
• Submit a 250-word essay answering the question: “How would the
  First New York Scholarship benefit you in pursuing your college career?
• Submit a copy of their high school transcript
  

First New York scholarship applications are available online or any First New York branch. Completed applications can be mailed to First New York FCU, Scholarship Committee, 2 Wall Street, Albany, NY 12205.

New Product Alert: Fuel-Up Home Heating Loan

With major increases in home heating prices, Capital Region residents face their most expensive winter in years. Nationwide, the average cost of home heating is expected to rise over 17% this winter, according to the National Energy Assistance Directors’ Association.

Coupled with the already high rate of inflation, this added financial burden places a strain on households across the region. First New York wants to help solve this problem, which is why we’re introducing the Fuel-Up Home Heating Loan. Learn more about it today!
