
Giving Tuesday 2022: The Season of Giving Twice

For the first time ever, First New York Federal Credit Union is running a Giving Tuesday Matching Campaign we will match 50% of your donations to three local charities: Boys and Girls Clubs of Schenectady, Safe Inc. of Schenectady, and Capital City Rescue Mission.
From November 29 to December 31, or until our $20,000 in matching funds have been claimed, we’ll be giving you the opportunity to give back this holiday season. Boys and Girls Clubs of Schenectady
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady (BGCS) helps inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. BGCS provides young people within the Schenectady community with:
- A safe place to learn and grow
- Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals
- Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences
- Hope and opportunity
Safe Inc. of Schenectady
Safe Inc. of Schenectady is a non-residential and intensive case management program designed to serve individuals between the ages of 12 and 35 who are runaway, homeless, have been sexually exploited or are at risk of exploitation.
Safe House is also an emergency shelter that serves homeless and runaway youth ages 16 to 20. A youth may come to Safe House through self-referral or through referral sources. Admission to Safe House is solely voluntary. The program is tailored to meet of the needs of each individual through referrals and a network of services such as:
- Crisis Intervention
- Emergency Shelter
- 24-Hour Hotline Services
- Individual and/or Family Counseling
- Peer Support Group
- Medical Services
- Drug and Alcohol Counseling
- GED Classes/School Enrollment
- Vocational Training
- Job Placement
- Housing Assistance
- Permanent Housing
- Employment & Job Readiness
- Budgeting
- Nutrition
- Interview Skills/Resume Building
- Advocacy
- Parenting Skills
- GED Classes
- Vocational Training
- Referrals to Substance Abuse Treatment
- Referrals to Mental Health Treatment
- Counseling
- Weekly Group Lessons
Capital City Rescue Mission
Capital City Rescue Mission helps homeless and hurting men, women and children in Albany, NY find the help and support they need to change their lives. Through their mission, they provide vital food, shelter, clothing, medical and faith services for people in need in the community.
How You Can Participate in Giving Tuesday
Beginning Giving Tuesday, November 29th, First New York’s Giving Tuesday Matching Campaign will match 50% of all donations to these organizations made through NetGiver. We have set aside $20,000 this season, and want to partner with you, our community, to give charitably and make an impact. The matching will continue until either we reach $20k in matching funds, or until midnight on December 31st.
