Did you know: 105 million Americans experience cybercrime each year, impacting 41% of the population (and, this number is increasing!). Here, are three steps to protect yourself now:

  1. Check the “From” Email Address: First New York will only send emails ending in “@firstnewyork.org.” If you receive an email from a “@firstnewyork.com” or any misspelling of “firstnewyork,” report it to us immediately.
  2. Is the Email Personalized?: Emails not addressed directly to you and have generic greetings like “Hi there” or “Dear valued customer” are usually fraudulent. Report them immediately.
  3. Never Reveal Personal Information: We’ll never ask you for personal or revealing information. If you receive a text or call asking for this, immediately report and block the number.

Remember: your best defense against any scam is remain alert and call the credit union. If you suspect any issue with your account or transactions, contact member services at (518) 393-1326 and press 2.

Want extra protection? We offer all of our members access to our IDProtect Identity Theft Program for only $1.95/per month. Scan the QR code to learn more.
