Save the Date: 2025 Annual Meeting
Nominating petitions for the Board of Directors must be returned by March 20, 2026. Each petition needs 1% of members’ signatures (minimum 388, maximum 500). Include a resume and a signed statement of willingness to serve if elected. Petitions are available by calling Terri Murphy at 518-393-1326 ext. 1195. No nominations will be accepted at the Annual Meeting if there’s only one candidate per position.
WHAT: Join us for the credit union’s 2025 year-in-review at our headquarters in Colonie. Refreshments will be served in our Community Room following the meeting. Enjoy beer, wine and soda, as well as lite fare.
WHEN: Wednesday April 29th, 2026 at 5:15 PM
WHERE: First New York Headquarters at 2 Wall Street in Albany. The meeting will also be broadcast over Zoom.
Your Board, Your Voice: This Year’s Board Re-Elections
First New York, as a financial cooperative, has a Board of Directors made up entirely of volunteers. This year, the Nominating Committee—comprised of Charles Smith, David Wagner and Gary Comle has put forward two nominees for re-election to three-year terms: Robert Roback Jr. and Timothy Schramm.
Nominations from the floor will not be allowed at the Annual Meeting, and voting will not occur if each vacant position has only one nominee. The 2025 Annual Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Robert Roback
Robert Roback began serving on the Supervisory Committee in 2016. He was appointed as an Associate Director in April 2022 and as a Director in December 2022. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics with a minor in Math from SUNY Oneonta and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Siena College. Bob is a CFP(R) Professional, Enrolled Agent and has been a Certified Fund Specialist at Luther Forest Wealth Advisors since 2006. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Timothy Schramm
Timothy Schramm began serving as a volunteer on the Supervisory Committee in May 2001. He was appointed as Associate Director in 2011, and became a Director in 2016. Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is retired after 30 years with the City School District of Albany as the database administrator.
